Job Evaluation
I recently had my job evaluation. It went very well. I had to beat a good evaluation out of my boss, but I won. Just kidding! (I did take these to work the day of my review though.) I love my job!

This is a picture that I found while sorting yearbook pictures. It makes me laugh. Anybody want to guess whose legs these are?

Biting My Tongue

Today as I was scheduling an appointment for a new patient on the telephone, I asked the "gentleman" what his first name was. He said, "Tim." I asked him if his real name was Timothy or Tim. (I have to enter the real name, not a nickname, etc.) He said, "Ma'am, when I say that my name is Tim, it is Tim not Timothy." I thought to myself, "Nice attitude!" I did not even bother to explain why my question was not a stupid one. I continued entering his data. After the appointment was scheduled, I proceeded to tell him that he needed to bring his insurance card, driver's license, and medication bottles to his first appointment. He then asked me if he needed to bring his medicine bottles or was a medication list OK. This is where I bit my tongue. He had already royally annoyed me, and I don't even know him yet. I wanted to say, "When I say medicine bottles, I mean medicine bottles!" What a guy!

Christmas in Pennsylvania
On New Year's Day, I had Christmas with Matt's family. They came to my house for the evening. We ate and exchanged gifts, and they opened all of their gifts from mom and dad.
My tree in the living room.
The tree that I started this year with ornaments that represent memories and things about my life. I have a new hobby of shopping for special Christmas ornaments. One of my favorites that I bought this year was a camera.
Tyler pulling my wooden beads off of the tree. Normally, this would not be allowed. But...it was his first time to see the tree, and I will have it down before he sees it again.
Kayla enjoying one of my family's favorite cookies...Thumbprints.
Matt helping the kids hand out the presents. Our family lets the kids hand out the gifts and then we all take turns opening a gift. It is more fun this way because you can enjoy each other's gifts.
Tyler enjoying the wrapping paper.
Justin liked his baseball batter's helmet from me.
Justin trying on his snow pants.

Christmas 2008
This year, I spent Christmas in West Virginia with my parents. They usually come to Pennsylvania, but this year I really wanted to go home. I get a lump in my throat when I hear the song, "I'll Be Home For Christmas". There is no place like home.
I was glad to see that they have changed the signs and license plates back to "Wild and Wonderful".
I got up at 5 AM on 12/23 to pack the car and get ready for work. I left for WV from work at around 6 PM. It is a seven hour drive. At about 11 PM, my parents called to tell me that I should get a hotel room because part of the interstate that I needed to get home had closed because of ice. I would have had to go up this mountain, but it was closed. So, thanks to my parents for looking out for me because the weather where I was traveling at the time was clear.
Justin's favorite book that he likes to have read every night when grandma is around at Christmas.
Me baking peanut butter cookies dipped in chocolate. I love to bake.
Dad with one of his gift's from me.
Mom with her gift, a digital camera, from all of us. She took time to smile for the camera after she finished crying. I cried over one of my gifts too. Thanks Becky for the pictures that my mom painted as a teenager. (No picture available.) Next Christmas, I think I am going to put a box of tissues under the tree. Pathetic!
I just about ruined this gift. The day after Thanksgiving, I got up before anybody else and went to Walmart to get a KitchenAid. My family was a little nervous when they got up and I was gone. What I did not know was that mom and dad had already bought one for me. They were relieved when I returned home without one. Walmart sold out of these at 5:30 AM...I arrived at 8:30 AM. I am not a serious Black Friday shopper.
Mom and I made some fudge. I made 40 little bags to hand out to patients. I could tell that the patients really enjoyed these homemade treats. I enjoyed giving them out. Just a little something to them from me.
I spent one afternoon with my grandmother showing me some basic cake decorating things.
Santa's sleigh. Mom and dad sent all of their gifts for Matt's family back with me. My dad and I had a bet going about whether or not it was all going to fit in my trunk. I have a large trunk and was pretty confident that it would all go. Dad won.

Christmas Dinner
The doctor that I work for and his wife always treat us to a very nice Christmas dinner. They never tell us where it will be, so we never know until we get there. It adds to the fun with it being a surprise. All of us, especially me, tried to catch them off guard. I was able to get one clue when I overheard her making the reservations. After keeping it a secret for so long, the doctor almost slipped up. My date was already going to be in State College getting GBSC's yearbooks printed. I told the doctor this so that we could just meet there if we were going that direction. He told me that we were going that way and that he would email the details to Kevin. He told me the next day that he almost carbon copied the email to me about where and when to meet. That would have been hilarious!
The food was delicious.
The Nittany Lion Inn at Penn State University in State College, PA, was a beautiful place. (Not a great picture though.)
We had a great time.
Me and my date, Kevin Moser.

Yearbook 2007-2008

My third and FINAL yearbook! I had never done a yearbook before teaching at PVCA. One of my pet peeves is when people will not do something they are asked to do (within reason) because they don't know how or because they have never done something. My philosophy is, "Just try!" Well, I tried...and I learned a lot.

This year the book was dedicated to Becky Dendler. She teaches elementary music classes, directs the elementary choirs, and teaches music lessons.

Weekend with Friends
This past weekend, I went with my friend, Michelle, and her family to Knoebels for the Covered Bridge Festival. After we looked at all booths and ate, we enjoyed watching the kids ride the rides. Then we drove up to Ricketts Glen to Michelle's in-laws' camp and sat and talked around the fire. I did not get pictures of everybody because I really was not in a picture-taking mood.
Allison Myers
Quinton Myers also wanted me to ride the roller coaster with him. It was fun, but I SCREAMED the entire time!
